BENTONVILLE -- Highfill Mayor Stacy Digby is being investigated regarding the possibility of having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
A search warrant was served Wednesday at Digby's residence, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information was released, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Digby couldn't be reached Thursday at Highfill City Hall. Attempts to reach him by phone also were unsuccessful.
Highfill Police Chief Blake Webb issued a news release stating the city is aware of the investigation and had no additional information. Webb referred all questions to the Sheriff's Office.
Webb said the initial report began with the Highfill Police Department and was immediately sent to the Sheriff's Office.
