Arkansas man is charged in death after body found in apartment

Authorities are investigating the death of a woman who investigators believe was beaten to death at a southeast Arkansas residence.

The Arkansas State Police said officers were called about 6 p.m. Thursday to Turtle Creek Apartments on Oakland Avenue in Monticello, where they found a woman's body inside one unit. The victim was identified Friday afternoon as Roxanne Best, 32, of Monticello.

Camiron King, 28, of Monticello was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Best. Bail was set at $500,000, and King is being held at the Drew County jail, according to a release from the state police.

The body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory to determine the cause of death, police said in a news release.
