Police bust two in drug trafficking investigation

FAYETTEVILLE -- Police arrested two people in connection with trafficking methamphetamine and weapons charges as part of a two-month drug investigation by the 4th Judicial District Drug Task Force, according to a press release.

Detectives identified and made several controlled purchases from Michael Sartin, 53, and Tammera Clark, 54, both of Fayetteville. They were distributing large quantities of meth in Northwest Arkansas, according to the press release.

The investigation resulted in the seizure of approximately 4 pounds of meth, 26 firearms, body armor and $11,107, according to the press release.

Detectives searched Clark's residence at 1693 Brooks Ave. on Dec. 20. They found the majority of the meth and money, 184 grams of marijuana, an assortment of pills, weighing scales and a shotgun.

Wednesday, detectives found most of the guns and multiple drug ledgers along with 6 grams of meth and a pipe at Sartin's residence at 406 E. Huntsville Road.

The investigation is ongoing, according to police.

Sartin was arrested Wednesday in connection with possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by receiving. He was being held Friday at the Washington County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.

Clark was arrested Dec. 20 and being held at the detention center on hold for federal court, according to the online detainee information.

The 4th Judicial District Drug Task Force is composed of officers representing the Farmington, Fayetteville, Greenland, Goshen, Lincoln, Prairie Grove, Springdale and West Fork Police departments and deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
