One person killed in Brinkley gunfire

Authorities are investigating after four people were shot, including one fatally, Thursday morning at an apartment complex in Brinkley.

James Frost, 43, of Brinkley has been arrested, according to a news release from the Arkansas State Police.

Officers with the Brinkley Police Department were called around 7:15 a.m. to Pinewood Apartments, 615 W. Sixth St., the release said. Police found four adults with gunshot wounds, including 33-year-old Xavier Parish of Brinkley.

Parish, who police said was also known as Xavier Parker, was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.

Police said two other people were transported to hospitals. Another was treated at the scene for injuries not considered life-threatening.

A state police investigation is ongoing, and findings will be turned over to the prosecuting attorney.
