Baptist Prep's Cruce leaving for college position

Baptist Prep Coach Morgan Cruce announced Wednesday on Twitter that he is leaving the Little Rock private school after two seasons and will become an assistant coach on Brent Dearmon's coaching staff at Bethel University, an NAIA school in the Mid-South Conference located in McKenzie, Tenn.

"We are extremely excited about the new chapter in our lives, but we also know that Baptist Prep has left a mark on our hearts and souls that will be with us for our lifetimes," Cruce tweeted. "May God continue to bless the school and the football program! Go Eagles!"

Cruce was 0-20 in two seasons at Baptist Prep after spending four seasons as head coach at Gibson County High School in Dyer, Tenn. The Eagles are dropping down from Class 4A to Class 3A for the 2018 and 2019 football seasons as part of the Arkansas Activities Association's 2018-2020 classification cycle.

Dearmon was Arkansas Tech's offensive coordinator in 2015-2017. He was hired by Bethel in December.
