Shots riddle manclose to fairgrounds

A Little Rock shooting left one person in critical condition Tuesday evening, according to a police spokesman.

Lt. Michael Ford, a police spokesman, said the shooting victim was shot near West 28th and Wolfe streets, a few blocks away from the State Fairgrounds.

The victim then traveled to the area of West Seventh and Marshall streets, he said. An online dispatch log shows Little Rock officers were dispatched to 1700 W. Seventh St. at 5:34 p.m. on a report of a shooting.

Ford said the victim, who was shot multiple times, was listed in critical condition. Additional information on the shooting was not available Tuesday night.

Teen found shotentering trash can

A Little Rock teen found trying to get into a garbage can had multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed into emergency surgery, police said.

Officers were called at 3:05 a.m. Saturday to a home in the 1500 block of Peyton Street on a report of a suspicious person.

The caller reported seeing someone, later identified as 19-year-old Jimmie Lynn Clark Jr. of Little Rock, in her yard with his pants around his ankles trying to climb into a garbage can.

Clark also tried to get into her vehicle, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

At the residence, authorities found Clark lying on the ground in the front yard with multiple apparent gunshot wounds in his right leg and stomach.

Authorities said Clark was rushed into emergency surgery at a nearby hospital.

Police noted that a bone in his right leg was also shattered, according to officers who spoke with medical personnel.

Clark could not say where the shooting occurred, the report stated. Officers were unable to find the crime scene.

Little Rock police were sent around 12:45 a.m. Saturday to check out reports of shots fired in the area of 16th and Peyton streets.

One witness said they saw two or three masked people walking along the street, including one who wore a gray jogging suit and had a gun in his hand, police said.

2 robbers make offwith store's candy

Two armed robbers stole candy from a Little Rock grocery store Monday night, an employee told police.

Officers went to Supermercado Sin Fronteras at 4918 Baseline Road shortly before 11 p.m., according to the police report. The 22-year-old cashier stated that a male and a female entered and walked up to her cash register.

The employee told police the female robber pointed a shotgun at her face and said "Give me the money or I will shoot you!" in Spanish. She said she could not open the cash drawer, so the male assailant, who had a black pistol, told his accomplice to "just grab everything she could," the report stated.

Authorities said the pair took several bags of candy, then ran toward the trailer park across the parking lot. The female robber was described as white, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. The male, also white, was listed as standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds.

The robbery happened while several other people, including a 17-year-old, were present, according to the report.

Man beaten, robbedof coat, $80 in cash

A man was beaten and robbed of his coat and cash by four assailants outside a Little Rock apartment complex early Sunday, police said.

The 62-year-old told police that he was leaving a friend's home at Alexander Apartments, 6310 Colonel Glenn Road, around 1:40 a.m. when four robbers approached him in the parking lot.

The male attackers beat the man, with at least one hitting him with a metal object, resulting in a cut about his left eye, according to the report. The 62-year-old's coat, which had about $80 in the pocket, was listed as stolen.

The Little Rock resident was taken to CHI St. Vincent Infirmary for treatment, the report stated.

Police have named no suspects.
