Two arrested in connection with Rogers armed robbery

BENTONVILLE -- Two people were arrested Wednesday in connection with the armed robbery outside a Rogers grocery store.

Donald Yost, 41, of Wentworth, Mo. and Nicole Shannon, 29, of Joplin, Mo. were arrested in connection with aggravated robbery, theft of property, possession of firearm by certain person, fleeing and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. The pair are being held without bond in the Benton County Jail.

Rogers police officers went Wednesday to 10 Box grocery store at 103 North Dixieland Road following the report of an aggravated robbery, according to a press release from the Rogers Police Department.

A woman reported that a man armed with a handgun approached her while she was in her vehicle and forced her to get out, according to press release. The man took the vehicle and headed north out of the parking lot on Dixieland Road, the press release states.

Police officers spotted the vehicle and began a pursuit. The vehicle struck another vehicle at the intersection of Dixieland Road and Olive Street, according to the press release.

The pursuit continued south on Dixieland and then east on New Hope Road, ended in the area of Blue Hill Road, the press release states.

Yost was the driver and Shannon was a passenger in the vehicle, according to the press release.

Police interviewed Yost and Shannon and they said that they had been walking in an unknown area of Benton County and an elderly couple gave them a ride to Rogers, according to the press release.

Police want to talk with the couple that gave the pair a ride and are requesting they contact the Rogers Police Department.

Yost and Shannon are scheduled for arraignments at 8 a.m. April 9 in Circuit Judge Brad Karren's courtroom.
