10th-grader arrested in connection with threat

BENTONVILLE -- A 10th grade Bentonville High School student was arrested Wednesday in connection with making a threat to use a firearm on campus, according to a press release from the Bentonville Police Department.

The student was arrested in connection with felony terroristic threatening.

Bentonville police and the Bentonville School District faculty were notified at 10:38 a.m. Wednesday of a handwritten note found in a restroom at the high school, according to the press release. The note threatened to use a firearm on campus, according to the press release.

Bentonville police went to the school where a second threatening note was discovered, according to the press release.

Police, working with faculty, identified a 10th grade male student and he was arrested at the school, according to the press release.

The student was removed from school without incident.
