Beaver Lake
Rain last week has Beaver Lake on the rise. Water is muddy on the south end. There is a lot of debris on the lake.
Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said crappie fishing had been good, but muddy water and debris will make fishing more difficult. How it will affect the bite isn't known yet. Before the rain, anglers were catching some big crappie by spider rigging with minnows 10 feet deep.
For striped bass, try brood minnows, shad or jigging spoons.
James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker reports good walleye fishing with jerk baits in the Rocky Branch area. Jerk baits are also a good lure for black bass, along with Alabama rigs and crank baits.
Water temperature is in the mid-40s.
Beaver tailwater
Lisa Mullins at Beaver Dam Store said trout fishing is good in the Bertrand launch ramp area. The top flies are nymphs and micro jigs.
Power Bait or nightcrawlers are the best baits. Small spoons are the top lures in low water. Try Flicker Shads during power generation.
Lake Fayetteville
David Powell at the lake office said crappie are biting jigs 10 to 12 feet deep. For black bass, try jerk baits or crank baits six feet deep. Water temperature is 45 degrees.
Lake Sequoyah
Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said crappie are biting minnows eight feet deep. Fish along ledges with plastic worms for black bass.
Swepco Lake
Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting a variety of soft-plastic lures rigged any style. Fish two to 20 feet deep.
Spinner baits and square-bill crank baits may also work.
Siloam Springs Lake
Stroud recommends using small jigs or minnows for crappie.
Eastern Oklahoma
Black bass are biting at Lake Eucha on jigs, jerk baits or Alabama rigs, according to Stroud.
Bella Vista
Nick Gann at Hook, Line and Sinker said trout at Lake Brittany are biting well on small spoons or Power Bait.
Black bass are biting Alabama rigs, jerk baits, crank baits or jig and pigs. Bass fishing is good at Lake Windsor.
Table Rock Lake
Pete Wenners at Pete's Professional Guide Service recommends using Alabama rigs, crank baits or jerk baits. Channel swings in the creek arms are good areas to fish.
Anglers seeking the warmest water should fish in the back of creek arms. Water temperature is in the mid-40s.
