Washington County restaurant inspections

Critical violations are defined as items relating directly to factors that lead to food-borne illness and must be corrected immediately. Noncritical violations are defined as items that relate to maintenance of food operations and cleanliness.

Noncritical violations: Beef was not being thawed in accordance to established methods. Wet wiping cloths were stored on counter tops. Scoop handle was touching pico de gallo in walk-in cooler.

Noncritical violations: Floors in walk-in cooler and wall in dry storage area need cleaning.

La Chispa Del Sabor

701 N. Thompson St., Suite E, Springdale

Critical violations: Food employee dried their hands on their apron because there were no paper towels at the handwashing sink. Mayonnaise was at 48 degrees and cheese was at 47 degrees in cold holding.

Noncritical violations: Buckets of ice cream and chicharron de harina did not have labels; packaged food must comply with standards of identity. An ice cream scoop was stored in standing water. The restroom did not have toilet paper.

Critical violations: There were no paper towels or hand cleanser were available at the handwashing station. Salsa in ice bath was at temperatures between 44-45 degrees, must be kept at 41 degrees or below. Beef was held the past discard date.

Critical violations: The handwashing sink in the back room was being used for storage. Food items in the refrigerator do not have discard dates.

Noncritical violations: Refrigerator in the food preparation area does not have a thermometer. Fecal matter was found in the cabinet underneath the cappuccino machine.

Critical violations: The bar area must have and maintain a handwashing sink with cold and hot running water, soap and hand towels.

Noncritical violations: Ice scoop was stored on top of the ice machine, during pauses in food preparation or dispensing, food preparation and dispensing utensils must be stored in accordance with established regulations. The drain of the dishwashing machine needs cleaning.

Noncritical violations: Bulk containers of food were uncovered. Rice scoops were stored in water that was at 97 degrees, utensils may be stored in standing water at a temperature of 135 degrees or more. Bowls were used a scoop, must use utensils with a handle to prevent cross contamination. Vent and fan in food preparation area and refrigerator need cleaning. Garbage dumpster lid was open.
