1 Purse $23,000, 6 furlongs, fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up, claiming $10,000

**LIAM'S WORLD won consecutive races in New York, previous to a pair of in-the-money finishes against better at Oaklawn. QUEEN KATE crossed the wire only a neck behind the top selection on opening day, and she won four of nine races in 2017. She excels on a wet track. TITFORTAT led past every pole but the last one in a competitive third-place finish, and the quick mare can handle a slight jump in class.

2 Purse $23,000, 6 furlongs, fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up, Arkansas-bred, maiden claiming $20,000

****MORE MONIQUE finished third behind two quality state-bred fillies in her seasonal debut. She appears the controlling speed and figures to graduate at this lower classification. SATTERSFIELD was compromised by a less than ideal trip in a fifth-place career debut finish, and she benefits from the experience and a drop in class. CLARISTA was forwardly placed before tiring a bit in her first race as a 3-year-old, and she is dropping into a maiden-claiming race for the first time.

3 Purse $40,000, 1 mile, 3-year-olds, claiming $50,000

**MIDNIGHT RUN comfortably defeated $25,000 claiming rivals sprinting at Santa Anita. He has two-turn experience, and he represents a winning stable. SHAKEDOWN showed determination down the stretch in a two-turn maiden victory, and the abundance of early speed should flatter his late run. COACH ADAMS has set a fast pace in two good route races at the meeting, and he is dangerous if able to make the lead without having to sprint to get there.

**SHOWREEL chased a fast pace before beaten 5 lengths in her return from a freshening. The beaten post-time favorite drew a favorable post for a sprinter with speed and may make amends for her new stable. PRETTY GREELEY may be the best finisher in a field loaded with early speed, and she is dropping to the lowest price of her career. MISS AZUL is another one-run closer who will appreciate a contested pace, and she has raced well in two wet-track races.

5 Purse $23,000, 1 mile, fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up, claiming $10,000

**ORO BIRD is only a photo finish loss from having won four consecutive races. The late-running mare is unbeaten in two wet-track races and is sharp enough to move up and contend. ELECTRIC COWGIRL won at a slightly higher level on opening weekend, and she has raced well against better in two subsequent races. OKBYECYA splashed her way to victory in an $8,000 claiming race, and the winner of two straight was claimed by a Canadian stable having an excellent meeting.

**GUSKA MON SHOES was beaten a diminishing neck in his first race after a lengthy layoff. He has won six of his eight races at Oaklawn, and he races for high percentage trainer Robertino Diodoro for the first time. MEANBONE suffered a narrow defeat in an open claiming race, and he becomes a logical contender in a restricted claimer. DETROIT COWBOY lost a clear lead in an excuse-free second-place finish, and a likely favorite who may not want to win is not for me.

****BROOKLYN BITES set a fast pace in a clear second-place debut at Fair Grounds, and she appears to have landed in a subpar maiden field. FABULOUS GIRL is an unraced filly who is bred to be a fast filly, and her last two breezes are encouraging. KALALOU has a series of good works leading up to her career debut, and notice the presence of leading rider Ricardo Santana.

**DUSTEM CAROLINA has finished no worse than second in four consecutive races, including a local victory Jan. 12. She is a good finisher in a field with plenty of speed, and she likes a wet track. PRIZED BOURBON earned a strong pace figure in a second-place finish over this track, and she recorded a swift subsequent breeze over a muddy track. JERSEY HEIST easily defeated conditioned-claimers, and she is proven on a wet track. She has finished in-the-money in all six of her races at Oaklawn.

**NIGHT SPREE lost a late lead in a second-place finish at Delta Downs, and he cleared his nonwinners-of-two condition last spring at Oaklawn. He has done his best running with today's rider aboard. MIDNIGHT'S FANTASY finished with energy in a useful sprint tune-up, and both of his previous wins were two-turn races that followed a sprint. SABBATARIAN was beaten less than 3 lengths at a higher claiming price, and he switches to a leading rider.

EXOTIC POSSIBILITIES

• More Monique appears a standout in the second race, therefore, I'll start a Pick-3 with her. The third race can be won by several so spreading out is recommended. The fourth race is also competitive, but I'll try to narrow it down by only using likely overlays. Oro Bird may be underbet in the fifth, so I will key her in a trifecta. As always, I prefer to spread out in the middle, and use roughly three contenders in the third spot.
