Berryville 62, Pottsville 53

The host Lady Bobcats punched their ticket to today's championship game by building a small lead early and adding to it over the final three quarters.

Berryville clinched the win at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter by hitting 16-of-20, including 9-of-12 from guard Baylea Smith, who scored 18 points.

Lexy Anderson scored nine first-quarter points to help get the Lady Bobcats off to a fast start. Anderson finished with 17 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Kelcee Hooper added 13 for Berryville.

Pottsville, the No. 1 seed from the 4A-4 Conference, got 16 points from three different players. Madi Rust, who drilled four 3-pointers, Skylar Campbell and Aspen Campbell all hit for 16.

Berryville will play in the girls' championship at 6:30 p.m. today.

Gravette 67, Ozark 45

The Lady Lions continued their postseason roll by blowing away Ozark in the semifinals on Friday to advance to today's title game against Berryville.

Gravette dominated the first half, especially the second quarter when it outscored Ozark 22-9 to take 37-20 halftime lead. The Lady Lions never looked back from there.

Tori Foster scored 18 points to lead the Lady Lions. Cally Kildow scored 15 and Skyler Morrison 11. Ariel Walker led the Lady Hillbillis with 13.

Boys

Pottsville 52, Booneville 30

The Apaches are headed to the championship game after blowing past Booneville in the second half.

Pottsville led 23-12 at halftime then seized control after intermission. Landon Reed scored 15 points for Pottsville on five 3-pointers. Wesley Heikes added 10.

Logan Bradley led the Bearcats with 14 points.

Berryville 58, Pea Ridge 55

The Bobcats grabbed the early lead and held off Pea Ridge to advance to the championship game on their home court.

Berryville, coming off a 4A-1 Conference Tournament championship last week, can make it two straight with a win against Pottsville tonight.

Jarrett Ray powered the Bobcats with 21 points, including four 3-pointers. Zach Webb, who scored eight points in the fourth quarter, added 19 points and Ty Allen drilled three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points. Berryville hit nine 3-pointers in the game.

Pea Ridge, a state runner-up last season, hung close with the Bobcats behind the inside play of Mikey Mahoney, who scored 20 points, but just two in the fourth quarter. Nick Coble added 10 points for the Blackhawks, who will take on Booneville in the third-place game today.

Class 3A Region 1

at Two Rivers (Ola.)

Girls

Two Rivers 60, Elkins 54

Kaitlin Hunnicutt had 17 points to lead three Two Rivers players in double figures as the host team held off Elkins.

Clara Grace Prayer added 16 and Kiyah Hunt 13 for Two Rivers, which led 33-31 at halftime and 47-41 after three quarters. Sophie Hollingsworth and Carla Burton each had 11 points for Elkins.

Boys

Perryville 63, Elkins 59

Perryville needed a fourth-quarter comeback to defeat Elkins and reach today's championship game.

Garrison Branscum had 22 points for Perryville, which outscored Elkins 24-12 in the fourth quarter, while Dawson Bullock added 12 and Drake Handerson chipped in 11. Chad Graham led Elkins with 18, followed by Layne Evans with 16 and Ethan Hills with 12.

Boys

Osceola 61, Yellville-Summit 45

Makai Caruthers scored 22 points to lead the Seminoles to a first-round win Thursday.

Osceola (21-7) led 33-21 at halftime and held control in the second half.

Nash Dowden scored 8 loins to lead Yellville-Summit (19-11).

Rivercrest 81, Clinton 66

The Colts grabbed a 35-30 lead at halftime, then turned on the offensive jets in the second half, scoring 28 fourth-quarter points.

Demilion Brown scored a game-high 27 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter. Kam Turner scored 22 and Derrick Johnson had 14.

Tanner Keeling led Clinton with 21 points. Avery Bramlett scored 15 and Riley McDonald 11.

Girls

Hoxie 62, Valley Springs 49

Hoxie led 21-14 at halftime and added to it in the second half to earn a first-round win on Thursday.

Sydney Gillham scored a game-high 23 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Lady Mustangs (21-9). Tessa Glenn added 14 for Hoxie.

Brylee Graddy scored 11 for Valley Springs (23-12) and Callie Ray scored 10.

Melbourne 71, Corning 51

The host Lady Bearkatz scored 41 second-half points and rolled to a 20-point win.

Melbourne (25-4) led 30-22 at halftime.

Freshman Reagan Rapert led five Melbourne players in double figures with 18 points. Halle Cooper added 14 and Josie Roark 12. Danni Hardaway and Kate Shinn scored 11 points each.

Kaytie Monatt scored a game-high 21 points for Corning (19-11) and Katie Clifton scored 12, all on 3-pointers.

Class 2A West/Central Region

Johnson County Westside 66 Hackett 39

Johnson County Westside jumped to a 32-17 halftime lead and cruised to the big win to reach the regional finals.

Kelsey Kriss and Madison Shelton led Westside (25-6) with 19 points each. Cassie Bell led Hackett with 18, while Madison Bell added 10 points and nine blocked shots.

at Alpena

Girls

Jasper 57, Alpena 53

Jasper claimed a 30-21 halftime lead, then held off the host team to advance to today's championship game.

Leah Shellnutt, Taylor Davidson and Sierra Johnson each had 11 points for Jasper. Alex Hill had 17 to lead Alpena, followed by Abby Dean with 15 and Whit Coffelt with 10.

Kingston 57, Lead Hill 48

Kingston bounced back after an early 13-5 deficit to claim a win over Lead Hill, avenging a loss in last week's 1A-1 West Conference title game.

Brooke Barron had 17 and Alesha Anderson 13 for Kingston, which trailed 25-23 at halftime but led 41-40 after three quarters.

Boys

Deer 63, Omaha 44

Deer outscored Omaha 16-6 in the second quarter to take control and handed the Eagles their first loss to an in-state team this season.

Casey and Caden Young had 17 apiece for Deer, which used its outburst to turn a 7-6 deficit into a 23-12 halftime lead, while Evan Middleton added 15. Trey Stone had 15 for Omaha, all on 3-pointers.

Kingston 53, Western Grove 38

Kingston went on a 20-9 tear in the second quarter to pull away from Western Grove and claim the win.

The outburst helped Kingston turn a slim 8-7 lead into a 28-16 halftime cushion.

Dylan Murrell led Kingston with 19 points, followed by Jacob Murrell and Cooper Riley with 11 apiece. Luke Lane had 11 and Hunter Baker added 10 for Western Grove.
