Walk visits Bentonville attractions

Ozark Hill Hikers, affiliated with American Volkssport Association, will host a walk Wednesday in Bentonville.

Walkers may travel five or 10-kilometer routes in the downtown and will pass Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and Compton Gardens.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at Casey's General Store, 100 S.E. J St. in Bentonville. The walk begins at 10 a.m.

Nutrients focus of water program

Beaver Watershed Alliance will host a water quality program from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Arvest Ballpark community room in Springdale.

Allan Gates, an environmental attorney, will speak about a proposed nutrient water quality trading regulation that could affect state water quality.

Trip sees woodcock flight display

Northwest Arkansas Audubon Society will host a field trip at 5:30 p.m. Saturday to see woodcocks dance in flight at Wedington Wildlife Management Area west of Fayetteville.

Dr. David Kremetz with the University of Arkansas and an expert on woodcocks will lead the trip. It is an easy walk from the parking area to fields woodcocks use. Bring a flashlight and do not wear bright-colored clothing.

Meet in a parking area along Arkansas 16 that is 1.9 miles west of the main entrance to Lake Wedington. The area is across the highway from a two-story house and a barn with a metal roof that is in disrepair.

Course features 30 archery targets

Cherokee Bowhunters Archery Club will host a 3-D shoot on March 3 at the Fort Crowder archery range east of Neosho, Mo. Shooters may start the 30-target course anytime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m,

The shoot is open to archers of all skill levels.

Trout Unlimited sets banquet

The 32nd annual conservation banquet and auction of the Arkansas Trout Unlimited chapter will be March 9 at Fayetteville Town Center.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $85 for a couple, $50 for a single adult and $20 for youths 16 and younger. Sponsorship tables are available.

The evening includes live and silent auctions, a catered dinner, raffle items and a short awards program. Live auction items include guided fishing trips, weekend getaways, artwork and fishing gear.

Expo, barbecue highlight Beast Feast

Beast Feast NWA outdoor expo is set for March 10 at Cross Church, 1719 Johnson Road, in Springdale.

The expo features vendor booths and exhibits, Daisy air rifle range and a barbecue dinner. Cost is $20.

Doors open at 4 p.m. The meal is at 6 p.m. Guest speaker is Jeff Danker with Buck Ventures.
