LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Two of the Big 12's most powerful offenses collided when No. 8 Kansas hosted Oklahoma. Only one lived up to the hype.
Devonte Graham had 23 points and 7 assists, Malik Newman added 20 points and Kansas beat Oklahoma 104-74 on Monday night in its first true blowout of the Big 12 season.
"It was a fun night, a good win," Kansas Coach Bill Self said. "Certainly we needed a game where we could not sweat until the very, very end."
The Jayhawks (22-6, 11-4 Big 12) controlled things early, jumping out to a 10-0 lead less than four minutes into the game and forcing Oklahoma Coach Lon Kruger to burn a timeout before the first media break. The Sooners (16-11, 6-9) never recovered.
"From the start, seemed like we were fighting uphill all night," Kruger said. "Just hanging on to stay within range. Guys fought it pretty good for a while, obviously didn't finish it like we want to or need to."
Kameron McGusty led the way for Oklahoma with 22 points while Jamuni McNeace added 18 in his first career start.
It was a cold shooting night for Trae Young, who missed 10 of his 13 shots and had a career-low 11 points. He led the game with nine assists.
Six Jayhawks scored in double figures, and the team broke the 100-point threshold for the first time since December. It was an offensive performance unlike any other during their Big 12 season, fueled partially by the memory of their loss to the Sooners in Norman back in January.
"The only thing that was on our mind was just getting payback," Newman said. "We went down there, and they stole one from us."
The win marks No. 300 all-time in Big 12 play for the Jayhawks. Only two other schools (Texas, Oklahoma) have surpassed the 200 mark.

Kristy Wallace scored 23 points and had seven assists as No. 3 Baylor won its eighth consecutive Big 12 championship Monday night with a 93-87 victory over No. 6 Texas in Austin, Texas. Wallace scored 14 in the third quarter and rescued the Lady Bears after Texas had started the second half with a charge and briefly held the lead. Wallace scored eight in a 14-5 run that allowed Baylor to take control of the game again, and the Lady Bears kept Texas at a safe distance the rest of the way. ... Lexie Brown scored 30 points, and No. 20 Duke upset No. 9 Florida State 79-66 in Durham, N.C. Rebecca Greenwell added 22 points with 3 of her 6 three-pointers coming during the decisive run. Leaonna Odom had 15 points to help the Blue Devils (21-7, 10-5 Atlantic Coast Conference). Nicole Ekhomu had 15 points and AJ Alix had 13 points for the Seminoles (22-5, 10-4), but top scorer Shakayla Thomas had just 7 -- nearly 11 below her average -- on 2-of-10 shooting. ... Caliya Robinson had 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists, Que Morrison also had a double-double and No. 19 Georgia beat Mississippi 66-52 in Oxford, Miss. Morrison had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Mackenzie Engram grabbed 12 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs (22-5, 10-4 SEC). Madinah Muhammad scored 18 points for Mississippi (11-16, 1-13), which has lost 15 of its past 17 games. ... Jessica Lindstrom had 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and No. 22 Wisconsin-Green Bay beat Illinois-Chicago 66-37 on Monday. Allie Leclaire added 10 points for Wisconsin-Green Bay (24-3, 14-2 Horizon League). Illinois-Chicago (7-20, 0-16) was just 14-of-47 shooting (29.8 percent) from the field and turned it over 20 times.
