MY FUNNY VALENTINE

Gala on a medical mission to serve humanity overseas

In a heartfelt effort to raise money, the Arkansas Medical Mission hosted a formal Valentine-theme gala on Feb. 10 at Four Points By Sheraton Little Rock Midtown.

Since 2012, the organization, founded by Nita Secuban, has sent a team to the Philippines to provide humanitarian services and free medical aid to the poor and underserved. In May, the mission will go to Bani, Pangasinan, Philippines.

The evening included a seated dinner, remarks by Secuban and Perla Gross and the coronation of Miss Valentine 2018. Florence Cuspao was awarded a crown, sash and bouquet of roses for raising the most money for the mission trip. Also in the running were Ceddie Persaud and Stella Partin, who received bouquets of roses for their fundraising efforts.

After the meal and program, the evening ended with dancing.
