Business Hall of Fame hails four inductees during dinner

The Arkansas Business Hall of Fame gained four new inductees during a dinner held Feb. 9 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.

Recognized for their accomplishments were James A. "Jim" Bottin, founder and chairman of ABC Financial; James Kirk Thompson, chairman of J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc.; the late John D. Correnti, who'd served as chairman and chief executive officer of Big River Steel; and the late Herbert H. McAdams II, former chairman and chief executive officer of Citizens Bank of Jonesboro and Union National Bank of Arkansas. Honorees, honoree representatives and their families came from a private reception to join guests during the packed general reception, held outside the Wally Allen Ballroom. A dinner and program came afterward.

Established by the Sam M. Walton College of Business, the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame is designed to honor, preserve and perpetuate the names and outstanding accomplishments of business leaders who have brought lasting fame to Arkansas. Past honorees include Al Bell of Stax Records; Millie Ward, Stone & Ward; William T. Dillard II and the late William T. Dillard Sr., both of Dillard's Inc.; the late Patricia Upton, founder of Aromatique Inc.; and the late John H. Johnson Jr., founder of Ebony and Jet magazines.
