Water utility's chief receives 2% raise

Central Arkansas Water's chief executive officer got a 2 percent raise Thursday, retroactive to the first of the year.

That bumps Tad Bohannon's base salary up to $196,248. He made $192,400 last year.

Bohannon was hired as the CEO in 2016 after serving as the water utility's in-house chief legal counsel for about two years. Before that, he had been contracted as the utility's outside attorney for about 20 years through the Wright, Lindsey and Jennings law firm.

He is the fourth-highest paid public official in Little Rock.

Ron Mathieu, executive director of Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport/Adams Field, makes the most with a $222,401 salary in 2017.

After him is Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services executive director Jon Swanson, at $206,591 last year, and the chief executive officer of the Little Rock wastewater utility, Greg Ramon, who made $203,049 last year.
