LAKE CATHERINE Rainbow trout are biting in the upper part of Lake Catherine below Remmel Dam. Use Power Bait on light Carolina rigs in heavy current or Trout Magnets in eddies and slack water areas. Striped bass also have moved into the waters below Remmel Dam to prey on stocked rainbow trout. Catch them on trout imitating jerkbaits, surface lures and spoons.

LAKE MAUMELLE Black bass are biting on shaky head jigs, crankbaits, drop-shot and jerkbaits in depths of 12-18 feet off steep rocky banks. They're shallow during dusk and dawn. Kentucky bass are being caught on hair and finesse jigs near the edge of the creek channel. White bass fishing is great now on the west end of the lake and under the Arkansas 10 bridges with Rooster Tails, CC Spoons and deep-diving Bandits and Bombers. Crappie are being caught on crappie minnows and soft plastic bodies with a weighted jig head. Try using chartreuse or lead as well as bladed jigs. Fish in the channel or under water bridges.

LAKE DARDANELLES Bass fishing has been good using Alabama rigs, jerkbaits crankbaits and Rat-L-Traps. Jigs are working in shallow water on warmer days. Many fish are deep, with some fish moving shallow. Striper fishing is good with swimbaits, hair jigs, spinnerbaits and jerkbaits. White bass are fair small Rat-L-Traps, spoons and inline spinners. Crappie fishing has been hit and miss, but when they are biting you can get your limit. Stay deep with minnows or jigs. Black/chartreuse or chartreuse/pink have been good. Catfish are improving around bluffs and old road beds with cut shad or skipjack.
