Several events have begun at the Olympics, including normal hill ski jump and curling.

German Andreas Wellinger will take his strong form into the final of the men’s normal hill ski jump Saturday after beating defending Olympic champion Kamil Stoch of Poland in Thursday’s qualifying. The opening ceremony in Pyeongchang will be televised at 7 p.m. Central today on NBC.
