**EVER SPECIAL was beaten a diminishing neck after early trouble and a wide trip in his local debut. The three-time beaten favorite wheels back at the same level. MOSTLY AWESOME has the fastest two-turn Beyer figures in the field, and she possesses route speed and is working well up to her seasonal unveiling. BLOOM BABY has sprinters speed and may lead a long way for red-hot connections.

PP HORSE JOCKEY TRAINER ODDS

**DIXIE KICKS was caught inside the final yards by a late-running winner in a photo finish defeat, and the speedy filly is switching from an apprentice to a winning rider. EMPIRE STRIKES was a stake-placed sprinter who is taking a precipitous drop in class after a dull effort in a turf-sprint at Fair Grounds. CONTROVERSY is dropping to the lowest price of her career for winning connections, and her Beyer figures are competitive.

****GEORGIA'S REWARD was bet down to even-money odds and did not disappoint in an impressive maiden-allowance victory. She is likely to improve with the experience. MS FIFTY FIRST ST. has not raced since finishing third as a post-time favorite in the 2017 Rainbow Miss. She is a very quick filly who did produce a career debut victory last winter at Oaklawn. DIXIE FLYER raced creditably at a higher level in her return from vacation, and she appears best of the rest.

PP HORSE JOCKEY TRAINER ODDS

***BARBARY HALL was a decisive winner at this condition just two races back, and she is dropping in class on the heels of a third-place finish in the American Beauty. PAPERCOVERSROCK rallied to third behind the top selection Jan. 15, and the consistent finisher has landed in a field with plenty of early speed. QUEEN KATE was a four-time winner at Remington, and she is taking a drop in class on the heels of a third-place finish.

PP HORSE JOCKEY TRAINER ODDS

2 Barbary Hall Hill Milligan 2-1

**YOUR SECRET'S SAFE loomed boldly in midstretch before surrendering late in a third-place return to the races, and he benefits from a race over the track and an inside post. SILVER G T O battled for the lead from gate to wire in a second-place finish while earning the field's fastest Beyer figure. Not sure he can duplicate the effort if beaten to the early lead. HEAVY ROLLER was forwardly placed in a useful allowance sprint tune-up at Houston, and he has proven route ability and picks up a leading rider.

6 Purse $75,000, 6 furlongs, fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up, maiden special weight

**MOONLIT GARDEN has finished in-the-money in three consecutive races against slightly better, and he receives a rider change after a pair of troubled trips. AREA is an unraced filly with nearly four months of good workouts, and she is bred to be a quality filly and picks up a winning rider. ETTALUSIVE circled rivals on the turn in a clear second-place finish, and the one-run closer keeps five-time leading rider Ricardo Santana.

PP HORSE JOCKEY TRAINER ODDS

7 She Has Risen Canchari Williamson 20-1

7 Purse $28,000, 1 1/16 miles, 3-year-olds, maiden claiming $30,000

*HIDDEN BAMBOO was beaten less than 3 lengths in a troubled career debut. He should benefit from the experience and is bred to run this far. CAUSE TO ACTION has finished a distant second in consecutive two-turn races, but he drew a favorable inside post for a sharp trainer-rider team. SHAKEDOWN crossed the wire just one position behind the second selection, despite encountered traffic, and he moves to the rail and should be rolling late.

PP HORSE JOCKEY TRAINER ODDS

***BLUE WINGS has set the pace in a pair of third-place stake finishes this winter at Fair Grounds, and he picks up a leading rider and is the one to beat. HAMMERS VISION is a multiple stake-placed finisher who is back sprinting after making a big middle-move in a two-turn race. WARRIOR'S CLUB easily defeated a similar field in September at Saratoga, and he finished second in a 7-furlong stake only two races back at Churchill.

PP HORSE JOCKEY TRAINER ODDS

5 Blue Wings Cabrera Sharp 7-2

7 Hammers Vision Maldonado Diodoro 4-1

9 Purse $22,000, 6 furlongs, 3-year-olds and up, maiden claiming $16,000

**CAPTAIN CHAOS showed speed before fading against much better in two races last summer at Santa Anita. He appears to be working very well for his return, and blinkers off is a high percentage move for this stable. UNCLE PANCHO is taking a big drop in class after showing good early speed and tiring in his seasonal debut. MY MAN KAN earned competitive Beyer figures while racing at a higher price last season at Oaklawn. Trainer Steve Hobby is due some racing luck after saddling four second-place finishers at the meeting.

PP HORSE JOCKEY TRAINER ODDS

10 Captain Chaos Maldonado Miller 7-2

1 Pray for Kitten Goncalves Litfin 12-1

9 Bonhomme McMahon Johnson 15-1

EXOTIC POSSIBILITIES

The 50-cent Pick-3 beginning in the second race starts with a contentious field and at least three fillies should be used. The third race has a single in GEORGIA’S REWARD, but can be totally covered with the addition of MS FIFTY FIRST ST. The fourth race has a logical favorite in BARBARY HALL, but others with less consistency do have a chance. BLUE WINGS is no cinch but a horse to consider as a single in the late double. The ninth race is very competitive and spreading out is advised.
