Voting begins in Pea Ridge election

Early voting is under way in the Pea Ridge School District's millage election.

The district is seeking a 3.9-mill tax increase to build a high school on Hazelton Road, southwest of the current high school campus, for about $20 million. The state would pay 52 percent of the cost if the millage increase is approved.

The increase would raise the district's millage rate from 44.8 to 48.7. For a home valued at $150,000, the increase in property taxes would be $117 annually.

Early voting is available weekdays through Monday at the following Benton County clerk offices: 215 E. Central Ave., Suite 217, Bentonville; 1428 W. Walnut St., Rogers; and 707 S. Lincoln St., Siloam Springs.

One polling place at Baptist Church of Pea Ridge, 1650 Slack St., will be open for the election on Tuesday.
