A Monday morning blaze at a Little Rock apartment complex has damaged 16 units and left as many as 19 people displaced, officials said.

The Little Rock Fire Department was called around 10:35 a.m. to Georgetown Apartments, according to Chief Fire Marshal Joseph Gray. The complex is located at 18 Nottingham Road, which is near a Target store in the city's midtown area.

Around noon, smoke continued to billow out of top-floor units as firefighters doused hot spots inside and from above the heavily damaged building. The fire department will send in fire marshals once hot spots are gone, Gray said.

No cause of the blaze had been determined.
