FAYETTEVILLE -- The city will ask for comments from the public about the southern portion of the U.S. 71B corridor plan.

Sessions are scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Arkansas Research and Technology Park, 700 W. Research Center Blvd.

The focus of the meetings will be the section of the highway that's South School Avenue from Archibald Yell Boulevard to Cato Springs Road.

The City Council in June hired national firm RDG Planning+Design to develop a plan for stretches of U.S. 71B through the city from Lake Fayetteville to Cato Springs Road.

Previous public meetings have focused on different sections of the highway.

Planners will return after the new year for additional public meetings to look at the plan in detail, including how the roadway fits with surrounding neighborhoods and businesses.
