Kaitlyn Shelby Hines - David Alan Gardner

First Baptist Church of Fort Smith was the setting at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, for the marriage of Kaitlyn Shelby Hines and David Alan Gardner. Dale Thompson officiated.

Parents of the bride are Stacia Stratton Wehunt and Gary Wehunt, both of Fort Smith. Her grandparents are Betty and the late Cliff Wehunt of Fort Smith, Peggy and Philip Stratton of Hot Springs and the late Kathryn West Stratton of Van Buren.

Stephanie and Alan Gardner of Little Rock are the parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Jeanette and Wesley Ferrell and James and the late Jo Anne Gardner, all of Wilson, N.C.

The chancel held white arrangements of amaryllis, anemones and ranunculus with silver dollar and seeded eucalyptus, olive foliage and privet berry. Music was by pianist Peggy Stratton, grandmother of the bride, and violist Peggy Tucker. Guests were greeted by Erica Gardner of Little Rock, sister of the groom.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length sheath of ivory lace with a long-sleeve off-the-shoulder bodice and a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of eucalyptus and olive leaves with white amaryllis, anemones and ranunculus.

Lauren Denne of Fort Smith was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Brittany Akers of Fayetteville, Katie Basnett of Fort Smith, Olivia Caldwell of Houston, Abbey Eddy of Russellville, Catherine Forte of Dallas and Leslie Hemphill of Poteau, Okla.

They wore black one-shoulder mermaid-style gowns and carried bouquets of silver dollar and seeded eucalyptus with olive foliage.

Spencer James of Little Rock served as best man. Groomsmen were Andrew Mainer and Eric Phan, both of Rogers; Josh Phifer of Russellville; and Brandon Smith of Springdale. Guests were seated by Kyle Hines of Fort Smith, brother of the bride, and Dalton Stancil of Fort Smith. Ring bearer was Kade Wehunt of Fort Smith, brother of the bride.

A reception was held at Riverfront Glass Pavilion. Guest tables covered in ivory linens were centered with garlands of eucalyptus and olive branches. Music was by Bradley Daniel of Frisco, Texas. Assisting were Marissa Davis and Megan Platt, both of Fayetteville.

The bride has a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, where she was a member of the Delta Iota chapter of Delta Delta Delta. She has a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Southern Arkansas University, where she was a member of Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society. She is a sensory scientist for Tyson Foods in Springdale.

The groom has a doctor of pharmacy from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy and was a member of Phi Delta Chi. He is a clinical pharmacist at Baptist Health-Fort Smith.

The couple will make their home in Fort Smith.
