Young man arrested for breaking into women's homes, police say

FAYETTEVILLE -- Police arrested 18-year-old Michael Irvin on Monday in connection with burglary, theft of property and voyeurism.

Irvin went into an apartment's unlocked door early Sunday morning at the Vue Apartments on Zenith Loop, according to a preliminary arrest report. He stood watching a sleeping woman and touching himself for about 20 minutes until she woke up when he lifted her blanket, according to the report.

A video showed Irvin entering and leaving the apartment. He was identified and arrested after the video was posted on social media. The video has almost 7,000 shares and 300,000 views.

Early Monday morning a woman woke up and saw a man in her apartment at 22 N. Hartman Ave. according to the report. The man ran off. The woman found the bathroom window was open and her laptop and several other electronic items were missing, according to the report.

Irvin, who lives at 2963 W. Dorothy Jeanne St., No. 4, admitted to both incidents, according to the report

He was being held Wednesday at the Washington County Detention Center with no bond set.
