Topless 100 postponed by weather

The 26th annual Comp Cams Topless 100 dirt late model race -- scheduled for tonight, Friday and Saturday at Batesville Motor Speedway -- has been postponed.

With the forecast for continued rain throughout the weekend on an already heavily saturated track and facility, Speedway and Series officials decided to postpone the event.

"This is not what we wanted to do," said Mooney Starr, the track's owner and promoter. "However, we did not want to get all of the drivers and fans here, and then have to cancel. With the grounds already saturated and the forecast for more rain throughout the weekend, it was best for everyone involved to postpone the event."

Officials with the track, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series are working to find a date to reschedule the event.

Arkansas to play Texas State

The Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball team will play Texas State on Dec. 22 in Walton Arena, according to the Bobcats' schedule released Wednesday.

The University of Arkansas is 3-0 against Texas State. The Razorbacks won the teams' most recent meeting -- 73-67 during the 2005-06 season -- when Steven Hill tied the school record with 10 blocked shots.

Other nonconference games for Arkansas include Texas on Nov. 9 as part of the Armed Forces Classic at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas; Texas-Arlington on Nov. 23 in Fayetteville; Dec. 5 at Colorado State; and Jan. 26 at Texas Tech as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge. The Razorbacks will host Western Kentucky -- coached by Rick Stansbury, the former Mississippi State coach -- but a date has not been announced.

The Razorbacks' game against UT-Arlington is part of the Hardwood Showcase, an exempt event that also includes Indiana, California-Davis, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Montana State, according to the News-Sentinel newspaper in Fort Wayne, Ind. The Razorbacks will host Indiana on Nov. 18, according to CBS Sports, but it isn't known what other teams from the showcase Arkansas might play.

Arkansas has not announced its nonconference schedule.
