Chicago Metallic Healthy Meatloaf Baker
Chicago Metallic Healthy Meatloaf Baker

We were worried Chicago Metallic Healthy Meatloaf Baker would produce dry meatloaf, but our fears were unfounded. Our favorite recipe turned out moist, but firm and just as flavorful as ever. The two-piece pan features an open-sided, perforated lifting rack that makes it easy to remove the meatloaf from pan, leaving all of the fat and excess liquid in the loaf pan.

The nonstick coating made clean up a breeze -- even the burnt on bits of brown sugar and ketchup sauce came right off. The pan is made of aluminized steel -- steel that has been hot-coated in an aluminum-silicon alloy -- so it feels sturdier than regular aluminum pans. The pan is oven safe up to 450 degrees, but should not be be used under the broiler. As with most nonstick-cookware, avoid using sharp-edged utensils and knives.

The pan is just the right size for a 2-pound meatloaf. The pan can be used without the insert for other baked goods such as quick breads, but because the pan bottom isn't flat, we recommend lining it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended.
