To protect national river, stop eating pork products

It just amazes me that not one thing can be done about finding the culprits who are polluting the Buffalo River. Why not just check along and within a certain distance of the river with everyone who could be held responsible for its demise?

If they are dumping floating crap into our river, they should be fined big time, right from the beginning, so that they get the point. The river is not to be messed with. It doesn't seem to matter about the 4-b designation or the 303(d) draft list because all of this is just a bunch of gobbledy-gook, so none of us will really know what's going on with the players responsible for this travesty.

Arkansas, this is a national river. Every U.S. citizen is paying to take care of this piece of

real estate, not just us who live in this state. We are just the ones passing the buck and not accomplishing anything to eradicate the crap from "our" river.

You know, if we all cut pork out of our diets, we'd be much healthier and that would include the Buffalo River. We could have a pork-out -- no eating the stuff until the river is healthy through and through. My dad always said, "You have to hit them in the pocketbook because making a buck is all they understand." What about making a commitment for a year? No pork for a year. We can do it. Nothing else seems to be working, so why not?
