What a difference an "a" can make.
In our Thursday's Thumbs offering, we dished out editorial kudos for efforts to preserve a stone wall surrounding Fayetteville's historic Evergreen Cemetery. We name-dropped a few well-known local figures buried there, and couldn't resist mentioning a fine example of community journalism, the Northwest Arkansas Times' Roberta Fulbright. She was an incredible publisher of her time, from the mid-1920s to her death in 1953.
Unfortunately, our mention dropped the "a" off Mrs. Fulbright's first name. She went toe to toe with plenty of men during her time in newspapers and as a community leader, but she was unquestionably Roberta.
We hope she'll forgive us.
