Fishing Hot Spots

LAKE CONWAY Bass fishing is excellent 4 feet below the surface and around lily pads with spinnerbaits and plastic lizards. Catfishing is excellent on yo-yos baited with minnows or goldfish. Bream fishing is good with worms and crickets 1 foot below the surface around the shoreline. Crappie fishing is fair on minnows and jigs at 6-8 feet around cypress trees.

HARRIS BRAKE LAKE Bass fishing is hot on buzz baits, minnows, worms, lizards, Brush Hawgs and Whopper Ploppers. Crappie fishing is good at 4-6 feet on Bobby Garland Popsicle, Shiney Hiney, Glimmer Blue, BBQ Chicken, Cajun Crickets, Blue Ice, Shimmer, Monkey Milk, crystal, bone/chartreuse, Gumdrop and Penny Back Shad colors, and also on 1 1/4-inch Itty Bit Swim'r baits and minnows. Catfish is good on minnows and worms and frozen shad. White bass are biting on Popsicle, Slab Slanger, Baby Shad and 1 1/4-inch Itty Bit Swim'r, Cajun Spin and Silver Minnow. Bream fishing is excellent with crickets, worms and Rock Hoppers.

LAKE MAUMELLE Bass fishing is very good on trick worms, crankbaits, jerkbaits and jigs in depths of 4-8 and 10-15 feet. A few can also be caught in shallow water on spinnerbaits or chatterbaits. Kentucky bass are biting on rocky banks or points with crankbaits and jigs. White bass are biting Rooster Tails, CC Spoons, deep-diving Bandits and Bombers. Crappie are biting over brush piles at 6-8 feet. Catfish are biting stink bait and worms around 20 feet deep.
