Arkansas 112 lanes to close near Elm Springs

ELM SPRINGS -- Crews working on the U.S. 412 Northern Bypass in Springdale will require lane closings on Arkansas 112, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials.

Weather permitting, lanes of northbound and southbound Arkansas 112 will alternately be closed between Carrie Smith Road and West Miller Road. These closings will occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Construction crews will be doing pavement striping on Arkansas 112 before opening the first stretch of the bypass April 30. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers.

The project is part of the department's Connecting Arkansas Program. The contractor is constructing about 4 miles of the four-lane bypass, which extends from Interstate 49 to Arkansas 112. The project is expected to provide a principal east-west route north of the Springdale Metropolitan Area. More information on the $100.6 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
