Bentonville High 7, Bald Knob 0

Cailey Cochran came within two outs of another no-hitter Monday afternoon as Bentonville claimed a nonconference victory over Bald Knob in a game played at Arkansas Tech in Russellville.

The junior right-hander struck out nine Lady Bulldogs and walked none in a 95-pitch performance that improved her record to 17-1.

Jenna Wildeman had three hits and scored three times for the Lady Tigers (22-2), while Riley Hayes had two hits -- including a triple -- and scored twice. Hailey Cornell drove in two runs with a sacrifice bunt and being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Bentonville returns to 7A-West Conference action today at Springdale High.

Greenwood 2, Rogers High 1

The Lady Bulldogs scored twice in the bottom of the fifth aided by a Rogers error to claim the nonconference win Monday.

Rogers (16-8) scored its only run on an RBI-single by Jadyn Heinle. Heinle was the only Rogers player with multiple hits, going 2-for-2.

Farmington 8, Gravette 4

Alyssa Reed and Camryn Journagan hit back-to-back home runs as Farmington erupted for seven runs in the second inning and defeated Gravette in nonconference action Monday at Farmington.

Reed ignited the outburst with her three-run home run. Journagan followed with her solo blast, and M Parrish capped it with a two-run single.

Paige Devecsery allowed three runs on six hits and struck out two batters over six innings to pick up the win. Lexi Gerner went 11/3 innings and took the loss for Gravette, and she also drove in the Lady Lions' first run with a sacrifice bunt.
