HAVE A HEART

Heights home goes red for heart health

Rick Fleetwood opened his home in the Heights to members and potential members of the American Heart Association's Circle of Red and the Red Tie Society.

Guests knew they were at the right home by the giant sparkling heart hung outside. Inside they enjoyed drinks and food and piano music before a short program.

The Circle of Red and Red Tie Society is a group of local influential women and men dedicated to supporting and advocating for the heart health of women in the community, said Sarah Miller, the Heart Association's Go Red director. She also spoke about how membership in the two groups allows the association to focus on research and education for women's health and to empower women to take care of themselves.

Phyllis Rogers, chairman of 2018 Go Red For Women, told the guests about the benefits of membership, including two tickets to each of the heart association's Little Rock events including the Go Red for Women luncheon.
