Springdale man accused of stealing $300,000 worth of construction site property

FAYETTEVILLE -- Police arrested William Lee Hoag, 44, of Springdale on Wednesday in connection with $300,000 of stolen property from construction sites in Northwest Arkansas, according to a police press release.

Fayetteville detectives with members of the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force have been investigating numerous complaints of thefts from the sites for months.

Detectives saw Hoag commit several thefts from construction sites, according to the press release.

Hoag faces charges of theft of property and possession of a controlled substance. He was being held Friday at the Washington County Detention Center on $7,500 bond.

After Hoag's arrest, police obtained search warrants and have recovered about $300,000 of stolen property so far at multiple locations in Springdale, according to the press release.

Police said investigation is ongoing.
