PREP SOFTBALL

Gravette 8, Berryville 1

Bailey Elmore threw four shutout innings and helped her cause with a home run as Gravette defeated Berryville during a non-district game Wednesday in Berryville.

Elmore held Berryville to six hits and struck out five, while Lexi Gerner pitched the final three innings and recorded a save.

Gravette took a 4-0 lead in the second inning with a two-run single by Shylee Morrison and back-to-back RBI hits by Gabbi Scott and Gerner, while Elmore's two-run blast in the sixth completed the Lady Lions' scoring. Lexi Woods had an RBI single in the fifth for Berryville's scoring.

Lincoln 14, West Fork 8

Lincoln closed out the game with 10 unanswered runs to knock off West Fork in a 4A/3A District 1 game in Lincoln.

Trista Cunningham was one of four players with three hits and drove in a team-high three runs for the Lady Wolves, who scored six runs in the fourth for a 10-8 lead and added four more in the sixth. Hollie Webb, Malorie Pershall, Jada Corbit and Kinley Webb added two RBIs apiece.

Bailee Wilson led West Fork with three hits and drove in three runs while Shayleigh Barnes chipped in three hits and drove in two runs.

North Little Rock 5-5, Fort Smith Southside 0-2

Lily Douglass shut out Southside on five hits and added an RBI single as North Little Rock defeated Southside in the first game of a 7A-Central Conference doubleheader.

Douglass struck out three and walked one in an 82-pitch outing, and she drove in a run during a four-run third. Cassidy Tucker added two hits and drove in a run for North Little Rock.

In the second game, Lauren Lester had three hits and drove in a pair of runs to help North Little Rock complete a doubleheader sweep.

Tucker had three hits and drove in a run, while Lily Douglass added two hits and an RBI for the Lady Charging Wildcats, who banged out 12 hits. Katelynn McMahan threw a five-hitter and struck out three while walking six.

Ella Kohler drove in both of Southside's runs with a first-inning single, while Hannah Hogue had two of the Lady Mavericks' five hits.

Fort Smith Northside 12, Mount St. Mary 4

Olivia Williams enjoyed a four-hit day, including a home run, as Northside rolled to a 7A-Central Conference victory in Little Rock.

Williams had an RBI single as part of a six-run first inning for the Lady Bears, while Jazz Coleman added a solo home run to start the second. Maddy Worden added three hits as part of a 19-hit attack, while four other Northside players had two hits apiece.

Susan Rice belted a home run in the first for Mount St. Mary.

PREP BASEBALL

Lavaca 10, Magazine 0

Martin "Rey" Lozano shut out Magazine on one hit over six innings and scored a pair of runs to help Lavaca post a victory on the Rattlers' home field.

Lozano struck out nine and walked two in a 91-pitch performance. Matthew Smith kept Lozano from a no-hitter when he singled in the second.

Lozano tripled in the first and scored when Hall reached on an error for the Golden Arrows' first run. Lavaca scored in all but one inning, including a three-run second as Tyler Hobbs hit a two-run triple and later scored on another Magazine error.

Jessieville 17, Lamar 5

Logan Perkins and Adam Saveall each had three hits and drove in four runs apiece as Jessieville knocked off Lamar.

Jessieville jumped out to a 9-0 lead after 2 1/2 innings, then pulled away with a six-run outburst in the seventh. The Lions compiled 14 hits and were helped by seven Lamar errors.

Zach West had a pair of doubles and drove in two runs for Lamar, while Ike Pelts had two hits and an RBI.

Tuesday's match

Bentonville 4, Van Buren 1

Eli Brandon, Andrew Wagner and Harrison Dickerson each scored a goal in the second half as Bentonville defeated Van Buren in 7A-West Conference action at the Tiger Athletic Complex.

The two teams battled to a 1-1 tie in the first half, with Frankie Suchara scoring the goal for Bentonville (5-7, 3-6).
