BEAVER LAKE
Muddy water has slowed crappie fishing on much of the lake. Garland Villines at Hickory Creek Marina recommends fishing the War Eagle River arm upstream of the Sidewalk Hole for crappie. Or try the White River arm above Blue Springs.
Clearer water can be found on the north end of the lake from Rocky Branch park to Beaver Dam. Use minnows or jigs five to 15 feet deep around wood cover for crappie.
Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers reports black bass are biting jerk baits, spinner baits with large blades or square-billed crank baits.
For crappie, use minnows 10 feet deep around brush. White bass are biting well in the White and War Eagle rivers on minnows. Good white bass lures include Little Fishies or Rooster Tails.
BEAVER TAILWATER
Lisa Mullins at Beaver Dam Store said the top flies for trout fishing are nymphs, midges and micro jigs. Good fishing is reported from the dam to Bertrand access.
Small spoons get the nod in the lure category. Power Bait in bright colors is always good.
LAKE FAYETTEVILLE
Angela Perea at the lake office said black bass are biting well on plastic worms or crank baits. Use small jigs for crappie or bluegill.
LAKE SEQUOYAH
Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said crappie are biting minnows or jigs 5 feet deep. Liver is the best catfish bait. Go with spinner baits or jig and pigs for black bass.
SWEPCO LAKE
Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting a variety of soft plastic lures including plastic worms, Senkos and Ned rigs.
SILOAM SPRINGS LAKE
Stroud recommends fishing for crappie with small black and chartreuse jigs.
BELLA VISTA
Nick Gann at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass are biting jig and pigs, crank baits and Alabama rigs at all Bella Vista lakes.
Use Power Bait or small spoons for trout at Lake Brittany.
EASTERN OKLAHOMA
Stroud said black bass at Grand Lake are biting jig and pigs or big spinner baits.
TABLE ROCK LAKE
The Missouri Department of Conservation reports good fishing for black bass with plastic worms and swim baits along chunk rock banks. Try crawdad-colored crank baits later in the day.
Crappie are biting minnows 15 feet deep around wood cover.
