National Multiple Sclerosis Society supporters gathered April 6 at Sassafras Springs Vineyard and Winery in Springdale for A Vintage Affair benefit.

Linda Bates, president of the National MS Society, presented Dr. Kevin Pope the group's Norman Cohn Hope Award, the National Society's highest volunteer award given by a chapter. "It is awarded by the national board of directors to an individual who epitomizes the voluntary civic action which is the legacy of Mr. Cohn, who was active in the fight against MS for 33 years."

Vanessa Branch, who was co-chairman of the event with her husband Drake Branch, said the evening helped the nonprofit organization raise some $125,000, "which will provide funds for MS research projects worldwide, educational programs, scholarships and services for those living with MS and their families, and financial assistance."

Among those supporting the society were Michelle and Luke Kelly, Allison and Scott Pope, Channing Barker, Blake and Wayne Woolsey, Laura and Craig Underwood, Bettye Morse and Teri Naylor.

TheatreSquared launched a new bonus program April 7 at B-Unlimited in Fayetteville. NEXT2 is for young season subscribers 21 and older. The NEXT2 Big Thing gathering followed that afternoon's matinee performance of Vietgone. The post-performance party gave group members a chance to meet and visit with cast members Rebecca Hirota, Edward Hong and Jolene Kim.

Jamey McGaugh, director of development, said the group gives members "an opportunity to socialize and network in a very creative, fun setting."

Plans are in the works for a scavenger hunt and bar crawl in May in connection with The Hound of the Baskervilles, which will open April 25.

Those enjoying The NEXT2 Big Thing included Tori and Andrew Bogner, Jerra Nalley, Stephanie Wehmeyer, Sarah and John Langham, Teryl Hampton Jebaraj and Mervin Jebaraj, Caitlyn and Drew Hutchison, Mary Margaret Hui and Keaton Smith.
