FAYETTEVILLE -- Police arrested a 21-year-old man in an aggravated-assault case early Wednesday after a report of a man with a gun making threats outside a University of Arkansas, Fayetteville fraternity house, said Capt. Gary Crain with the university police.

No one was injured and no shots were fired at the Kappa Sigma fraternity house, Crain said.

The man arrested, Ryan Grant Torres, is not a UA student, Crain said. He also was arrested on a driving-while-intoxicated count and on accusations of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a city police report.

University police were dispatched at 1:48 a.m. to the Kappa Sigma house, according to a UA police report. Fraternity members told police that earlier, a man had gotten out of a Chevrolet Silverado and begun urinating in the street at Arkansas Avenue and West Dickson Street, which is adjacent to the fraternity house.

Fraternity members told police they were in their yard working on fencing for what is known as Row Week when the man began yelling at them, Crain said. There was no event taking place at the fraternity house, Crain said.

The students told police the man pulled out a gun and pointed it in their direction while telling them "if they did not go home there would be consequences," according to the report by university police Sgt. D. Brett Waddell. The vehicle and driver were gone when police arrived but two fraternity members followed the vehicle, the police report states.

City police arrested Torres shortly after 2 a.m. at a hotel parking lot about 2 miles from the main UA campus, said Fayetteville police Sgt. Anthony Murphy. A preliminary Fayetteville arrest report listed Torres as a Fort Worth resident. The university police report states that a 9mm handgun was found in the vehicle with Torres.
