LAKE MAUMELLE Black bass fishing has been very good. With water temperatures in the low 60s and water rising, black bass are moving to spawning areas. Use crankbaits, jerkbaits and jigs at 4 feet to 8 feet in depths of 10 feet to 15 feet. A few can also be caught in shallow water on spinnerbaits or chatterbaits. This week, black bass bit best at dusk and dawn. Kentucky bass are biting well in the main lake, on the rocky shoreline or points with a crankbait or jig. White bass are biting Rooster Tails, CC Spoons and deep-diving Bandit and Bomber crankbaits. Crappie fishing is excellent at 2 feet to 10 feet depth on red/white jigs and minnows. Bream are biting in shallow water off rocky points and around brush piles on crickets or jigs from 3 feet to 12 feet.

LAKE DARDANELLE Largemouth bass are good on warm days with jigs with bamboozie craws and chatterbaits around trees and rocks. Scam Shad and Chiselers have been working really well around the coontail. Brush Hawgs and lizards have been working really well in the creeks. White bass and stripers are fair in the creeks on white bucktail jigs, spinnerbaits and swimbaits. Crappie fishing is improving on chartreuse, black and pink jigs. Bream fishing is fair with crickets and minnows around dead grass and rock in the river and around trees and stumps in the creeks. Catfish have been biting cut shad around the mouth of the creeks and channel swings.

LAKE OUACHITA Bass fishing is excellent with shallow-running crank baits, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, trick worms and lizard on secondary points and coves. Crappie are hitting jerkbaits above brush piles at depths of 15 feet and less.
