IMPORTANCE: The meet, originally scheduled for Friday, has been moved because of the weather forecast. With conference meets just two weeks away, many schools will use this meet as an opportunity to get as many automatic qualifiers for the state meets as possible. That way, those athletes can be rested next week if necessary before the conference meet comes.

IT HAPPENED LAST WEEK
Hamburg sprinter Tiana Wilson already owns set the Class 4A state record in the girls 100-meter dash, but she has shown she's capable of breaking that record again.
Wilson turned in a time of 11.86 seconds to win that event Wednesday during the SEARK Relays in Monticello. That surpasses her state-record time of 11.88, set during last year's meet in Pocahontas, but she will have to do that again or better during the Class 4A state meet in order to reset that mark.
Meanwhile, the Class 3A boys long jump record is now in danger of being broken this spring. Valley Springs' Carson Ricketts won the event Thursday during the Anstaff Relays in Green Forest, and his leap of 23 feet, 0.75 inches surpassed the current state 3A record of 22-7 set by Fordyce's Markel Bulliner in 2012.
Both athletes will have their opportunity to claim the state record May 1, with the Class 4A meet being held again in Pocahontas, while the Class 3A meet will be held in Jessieville.
