LITTLE ROCK — Forecasters are predicting a wild swing in temperatures for parts of Arkansas on Tuesday, with some areas at risk for severe thunderstorms and others under a freeze warning.

According to the Storm Prediction Center, the greatest risk Tuesday for tornadoes and severe weather is along the Mississippi River, including portions of eastern Arkansas, and extending north into the Ohio Valley region.

The stormy weather is predicted to hit in the afternoon and evening Tuesday, and forecasters say damaging winds are likely.

Forecasters say temperatures will plummet after the cold front moves in. A freeze warning is in effect for parts of northern and western Arkansas, and forecasters say overnight temperatures in those areas could drop into the mid-20s.
