5 Walk-On's restaurants planned for state

Walk-On's Enterprises signed an area development agreement with restaurant owner Chris McJunkins to bring an initial five Walk-On's Bistreaux & Bar restaurants to Arkansas, company co-founder and owner Brandon Landry announced.

The restaurant brand is co-owned by New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

The agreement anticipates three Walk-On's locations in the Little Rock area and two in Northwest Arkansas.

McJunkins, a 35-year veteran of the restaurant industry, owns the Walk-On's locations in Shreveport and Bossier City, La. Walk-On's is known for its Louisiana-style menu served up in a game-day atmosphere.

Baton Rouge-based Walk-On's now has 15 locations in Louisiana and Texas. Other locations are planned in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas.

Developer plans mix-use building

A second large-scale building is scheduled to begin construction in early October at the Johnson Square area and be completed in June, its developers announced.

High Street Real Estate and Development and RMP LLP announced the RMP Building at Johnson Square, a 21,000-square-foot mixed-use building with offices on the top two floors and two restaurant spaces on the ground floor. Ward Davis, principal with High Street, said the building will anchor the west side of the central green in Johnson Square.

The RMP Building will join Washington Regional Medical Center's Urgent Care & Neurosurgery Clinic already built in Johnson Square. The contractor on the construction of the building is C.R. Crawford Construction, the design architect is Robert Sharp, and the architect of record is Allison + Partners. The building will be owned by principals in High Street and partners in the RMP law firm through Johnson Square RMP Building, LLC. First Security Bank is providing the bank financing for the project.

The development is at Main Street and Johnson Mill Boulevard in Johnson. Infrastructure construction for nearby residences is underway for the first phase of Johnson Square and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Home sales have begun with a mix of 20 houses, six town homes, and 14 cottages available.

Wal-Mart warehouse earns safety nod

Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s fashion distribution center, Walmart Warehouse 6008 in Bentonville, earned a safety award .

The center's 451 employees accumulated 1 million hours without a lost day of work from a work-related injury or illness between May 3, 2016 and Aug. 8. The warehouse is at 2100 S.E. Fifth St.

The Arkansas Department of Labor, the Arkansas Insurance Department and the Arkansas Workers' Compensation Commission jointly present the award.
