FAA director tours Rogers airport

ROGERS -- Fortune 500 companies need to avoid congested airports, the director of the Federal Aviation Administration said this morning while touring the Rogers Executive Airport.

Michael Huerta, FAA director, met with Rep. Steve Womack, R-Ark., at the airport, where Wal-Mart's air fleet is headquartered. Huerta said his agency wants to know how it can help large companies.

He plans to tour Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport this afternoon and the Bentonville Municipal Airport on Tuesday morning.

The FAA runs out of its federal appropriation at the end of this month. Huerta said he was confident a funding bill would pass.
