Girl, 14, in LR park hit in leg by arrow

A 14-year-old girl was hit with a crossbow arrow while playing soccer in Allsopp Park on Friday evening, Little Rock police said.

Officer Steve Moore said the girl was practicing with her brother and father when they heard her scream and saw the arrow in her shin about 7:15 p.m.

It appeared to be an arrow typically used for hunting, and the girl pulled it out of her leg herself, Moore said. Officers searched the area Friday night but were unable to find the person who shot it.

The girl was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
