Bryan Stell

Where I live: the north end of Maumelle.

Occupation: I'm privileged to serve as development editor for FamilyLife, the marriage and family ministry headquarters in Little Rock and home of the FamilyLife Today radio program, Weekend to Remember marriage conferences and FamilyLife Blended. I also enjoy teaching for The School of Ministry at New Life Church in Conway, and my wife, Libby, and I recently accepted the campus pastor role for Mayflower New Life Church, scheduled to open in January.

My favorite space is: My living room recliner in the early morning before anyone else is up, with a cup of coffee nearby and my Bible in hand. Libby doesn't love the look of the standard "man-cave" recliner, so we were glad to find one that looks more like a decorator club chair.

Why? Along with other members of my church group, I recently enjoyed a pilot presentation of Robert Lewis' new outreach course, "Man to Man." One of the sessions was on having what Robert calls not just quiet time, but "God time" -- a regular time of prayer, Bible reading, and listening to hear from God. With such a busy life, these times of refreshing and focus are necessary and worth getting up for.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: switch out the carpet to a different shade.
