ARKADELPHIA -- Arkadelphia's defense wasn't about to let Hot Springs (0-3) score.

Posting their third consecutive shutout, the Badgers (3-0) routed the visiting Trojans in Arkadelphia's home opener.

Zion Hatley ran for three touchdowns, Cannon Turner passed for two scores and Arkadelphia converted a fumble into another touchdown.

Arkadelphia's defense, after shutting out Stuttgart and Sheridan, scored a second-quarter touchdown against Hot Springs when Josh Wallace returned a fumble 2 yards for a 35-0 lead.

Turner, a second-year starter as a sophomore, passed 22 yards to Logan Lucas and 27 yards to Dyon Hunter for touchdowns. Turner passed to Jack Burnham for a two-point conversion and 8-0 lead, after which Gabe Goodman made six extra-point attempts.

Hatley broke a 64-yard touchdown run with 1:55 left in the first half for a 28-0 edge, after earlier scoring on runs of 2 yards and 1 yard. Turner's 6-yard quarterback keeper made it 42-0 with 4:45 left in the third quarter.

Hatley had 171 rushing yards by halftime
