FAYETTEVILLE -- A woman was sentenced to federal prison today for distributing methamphetamine.
Hjestie Olitta Sommer, 40, of Fayetteville, was sentenced to 77 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $1,900 fine on one count of distribution of methamphetamine.
The 4th Judicial District Drug Task Force learned in August 2016 that methamphetamine was being distributed in the Springdale area by Sommer, according to court records. The task force arranged and conducted a controlled buy of methamphetamine from Sommer.
Sommer was indicted by a federal grand jury in March and plead guilty in May.
U.S. District Judge Tim Brooks presided over the sentencing hearing Fayetteville. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sydney Butler prosecuted the case.
