Booneville 28, Gravette 13
The Bearcats got 117 yards from Brandon Ulmer in a road win at Gravette.
Ulmer powered a Booneville (1-1) run game that piled up 342 yards. Mike Hesson ran 16 times for 74 yards and two second half touchdowns and Trent Wooldrige returned an interception for a touch on that gave Booneville a 28-7 lead with 9:53 left
Gravette senior Austin O'Brien made 13 solo tackles and had 10 assists. He also ran for 82 yards and a touchdown that got the Lions (0-2) within 28-13 but the Bearcats (1-1) then kept the ball the final 5:48 of the game.
Gravette's first touchdown came on a 45-yard Tajae White to Brady Moorman with Booneville up 13-0.
Gentry 49, Decatur 7
The Pioneers won their second game in as many starts as Jon Faulkenberry scored a pair of touchdowns.
Decatur also found the end zone, as Joseph Armstrong passed to Taylor Haisman for a 75-yard touchdown, but it was all Gentry after that as the Class 4A Pioneers routed their Class 2A neighbor.
Decatur suffered a series of injuries in the first half including Takota Parsons who sustain an ankle injury that put him out of the game. Because of these injuries and the wide margin on the scoreboard, the Decatur coaching staff decided to end the game at that point.
Keys, Okla. 34, Lincoln 16
Playing its first game on newly-installed artificial turf, Lincoln's spread offense was severely handicapped by injuries to their quarterbacking corps.
Starter Caleb Lloyd suffered an injury on his throwing hand early and backup quarterback Sterling Morphis injured his hand on the field with the Wolves' defense.
"We ran into a problem when Caleb hurt his hand in the first quarter. Our backup quarterback hurt his hand playing defense. We had nobody who could throw it," said Lincoln coach Don Harrison.
Keys led 22-0 at halftime. The only consolation for Wolves' fans was a halftime dedication ceremony to celebrate the new turf.
Despite the injury Lloyd played linebacker in the second half and Lincoln (1-1) looked poised to hold after stuffing a pair of runs, but on third-and-17 Alden Terrell ran for 31 yards. Terrell capped a six play, 71-yard drive with a 23-yard touchdown run to push Keys' lead out to 28-0.
Playing hurt, Lloyd grittily engineered an 83-yard scoring march for Lincoln. He converted a third down with a 10-yard rush and completed a deep pass to Lyndon Miller for 48 yards. The Cougars were flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct on Jacob Anderson's run moving the ball to the five. From there, Lloyd hit Braden Umberson with a touchdown pass to score the Wolves' first touchdown on their new turf. Umberson ran in the 2-point conversion.
Prairie Grove 41, Vian, Okla. 21
Anthony Johnson rushed for 129 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead the Tigers to their second win of the season at home Friday night.
Aaron Preston also had a big game for the Tigers (2-0), rushing for 100 yards on just eight carries with a pair of touchdowns.
Prairie Grove quarterback J.D. Elder was 8 of 16 for 138 yards with a touchdown, hitting Stone Bryant on a short scoring pass.
The Tigers will travel to West Fork next week in their final nonconference game of the season.
Danville 42, Lavaca 14
DANVILLE -- Preston Donnell passed for two touchdowns and ran in one more to lead Danville over Lavaca .
Donnell connected 78 yards with Juan Ponce for the first quarter's only score.
A 17-yard touchdown run from Evan Lane and a 14-yard run from Quentin Tolbert put the Little Johns (2-1, 1-0, 2A-4) up 21-0 at the half.
Donnell threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Lane in the third, then ran 16-yards for another touchdown. He finished 6-of-11 in passing for 140 yards.
Trent Cathey gave Danville its final score with a 3-yard touchdown run.
Tolbert led the Little Johns' rushing with 104 yards on 14 carries.
The Golden Arrows (0-2, 0-1) fought back with two touchdowns in the final quarter, a 34-yard scoring run from Tray Werner and a 44-yard touchdown run from Michael Terry.
Clinton 34, Berryville 0
BERRYVILLE -- Three players scored touchdowns and also had an interception each to lead Clinton (2-0) to a shutout over Berryville (1-1)
Charlie Sowell scored twice on runs of 15 and 2 yards. Ethen Drake rushed 14 yards for a touchdown. Austin Drake, who led receivers with 4 catches for 61 yards, caught an 8-yard touchdown pass from Weston Amos.
Sowell and the two Drakes each intercepted a Berryville pass to head the defensive effort.
Sky Davidson scored Clinton's other touchdown on a 10-yard run to open the scoring.
Elkins 42, West Fork 6
Chance Jones rushed for 188 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead Elkins.
Jones was all over the field for the Elks (1-1). In addition to his rushing total, he also caught two passes for 80 yards and one touchdown, and added an 83-yard kickoff return for a score.
Elkins quarterback Quinn McClain was 7-of-12 for 186 yards and three touchdown passes. Layne Evans caught 3 passes for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
