Central Arkansas Christian running back Hugh Miller (16) tries to avoid Joe T. Robinson defender Tyler Jones (20) during the Mustangs’ 40-7 loss to the Senators on Friday night.

Joe T. Robinson's parade of points started after an early hiccup and continued for six consecutive first-half possessions during Friday's 40-7 victory over Central Arkansas Christian at North Little Rock's Mustang Mountain.

The Senators (2-0) suffered a turnover on their first possession, then got rolling behind an offensive line that dominated.

"Our line crushed it," Robinson quarterback Greyson Tackett said. "They created holes you could drive a semi through."

Four different Senators combined to rush for five first-half touchdowns, and a running mercy-rule clock was all but guaranteed for the second half after Tackett's 15-yard touchdown pass gave Robinson a 40-0 lead with 2:15 left in the second quarter.

Robinson gained 322 yards, including 272 in the first half.

"Robinson has a lot of the good ingredients that you want," CAC Coach Tommy Shoemaker said. "They're big up front. Obviously they're a lot bigger than we are."

"Our offensive line is a good bunch," Robinson Coach Todd Eskola said. "We have a lot of size. We've got a lot of depth there, and we felt like we are so much more physical than we were last year. We feel like we can run it and throw it and be much more physical against teams this year."

Zaytron Waits, who had a 64-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, led Robinson with 70 yards on two carries.

"We have a lot of depth at running back," Eskola said. "We ask them not to be selfish, because we have six guys who are really good."

Robinson's rout started with an 11-yard touchdown run by senior running back Andre Bradley with 6:50 left in the first quarter.

Bradley scored on a 4-yard run to complete Robinson's next possession with 3:34 left in the first quarter.

The run continued on the first play of the second quarter when senior running back Ceazar Warren scored on a 37-yard run to give Robinson (2-0) a 20-0 lead.

A 56-yard pass from junior Tackett to junior receiver Mekel Kentle helped set up junior back Tyler Jones' 6-yard run that gave Robinson a 26-0 lead with 8:08 left in the second quarter.

Tackett completed 4 of 6 passes for 104 yards in the first half.

Three plays into Robinson's next drive, junior running back Waits ran untouched through the middle of CAC's defense for a 64-yard touchdown that put Robinson's lead at 33-0.

Robinson held CAC (0-2) to 12 yards of total offense in the first half. CAC completed the game with 62 total yards, and scored on junior quarterback Blake Smith's 12-yard touchdown run with 6:39 left in the third quarter.

"They're probably the most athletic team we'll face," Shoemaker said. "They come at you fast, and you've got to learn how to play fast. Hopefully, we'll learn from it and get better."
