"I thought we served really well," Lawrence said. "We worked really hard at serving the sidelines, serving deep corners and I feel like our block did a really great job.

"We just kept the ball in play. That's what we've been working on for the last four weeks now is keeping the ball in system, in play and either playing good defense and getting a block or putting the ball down after we play some defense and get some digs. I think team ball-control is just our focus and I thought tonight, the first set was a little shaky. We tried a new lineup, but the last two sets I thought we really controlled the ball and we were in charge of the game, which is what we want."

Martin led the attack with eight kills, while Kassidy Wall chipped in five and Alex Parish four for the Lady Mounties. Sophomore Madison James dominated at the net with six blocks. Lora Brown led Heritage (3-6-1, 0-2 7A-West) with six kills, while junior Tayonna Wilson added four blocks.

"That was one of our biggest struggles tonight, that and focusing on our serves and our aggressiveness and then our serve receive are usually are strengths. Tonight, they were some of our weakest. We've got to step it up and play to our strong points or it's going to be rough like it was tonight."
